What is Exercise Therapy?
Research confirms that regular exercise can be an effective form of therapy for many health problems. It can even help prevent many diseases.

Most of us are aware of the benefits of exercise. However, when we decide to get started on an exercise program we may not know how to go about it.

Our staff can help you. We have developed user-friendly programs that will help you to improve your fitness level in a safe, relaxed, and non-threatening environment.

Is a Doctor’s Referral Necessary to participate in a program?
No, but due to the nature of some health conditions, medical clearance from a doctor may be requested.

EXERCISE THERAPY PROGRAM

WHO MAY BENEFIT?

HOW DOES IT WORK?
The program consists of two sessions per week for four weeks.
There will be emphasis on improving:

 Cardiovascular conditioning
 Flexibility
 Strength and endurance
 Balance
 Body composition
 Core strength & stability

A number of techniques may be incorporated including:
 Spinal stabilization exercises
 Development of core stability
 Use of therapeutic balls

During the initial one-on-one meeting, you will be familiarized with our facility, and relevant information will be collected. From this we will:
 Identify your present health issues
 Target your personal lifestyle goals
 Set up a program that is appropriate to your needs

Throughout the remaining 7 sessions we will:
 Provide instruction and supervision
 Monitor your progress
 Give you guidance on how to maintain
your gains once you have completed
the program

LOW BACK PAIN
Do you suffer from back pain?:

KNEE ARTHRITIS
We will help you learn how to:
 Learn exercises that are appropriate for your condition
 Exercise without increasing pain
 Reduce the stress on the knee joint by improving the strength of the muscles surrounding the knee
 Improve balance, stability and sense of position
 Prepare for surgery if necessary

Therapeutic Exercise can help relieve symptoms in arthritic knees. Activities will become more enjoyable as knee pain decreases and function improves.

SHOULDER PAIN & STIFFNESS
We will help you learn how to:
 Decrease symptoms by improving movement and function of the shoulder girdle
 Improve control and function of the rotator cuff muscles
 Improve posture
 Identify exercises that are appropriate and beneficial to your lifestyle requirements
