Sport Medicine Doctor, Dr. John Bowman
was a family practitioner and now specializes in sport medicine. He is
a fitness and sport enthusiast and has a diploma in Sport Medicine
from the Canadian Academy of Sport Medicine. He is certified by the
Society of Orthopedic Medicine of Great Britain and has expertise in
injection therapy. He is also a member of the Canadian Academy of
Sport Medicine. |

Doug Freer
B.Sc. PT, FCAMT, CAFCI, CAT (C) Grad., Dip. Sports Physiotherapy,
Grad., Dip. Manipulative Physiotherapy, Registered Physiotherapist
Doug has been in practice since graduating from Western’s
physiotherapy program in 1973. He began working at Collingwood Sport
Medicine and Rehabilitation Centre in 1999. His expertise in assessing
and treating musculoskeletal conditions allows him to address the
complaints of the most complicated clients. He continues to lecture at
the University of Toronto and assist in manual therapy, sports
physiotherapy, and acupuncture courses across Canada. Doug has been
selected by his peers to be Chief Therapist for 3 World Student Summer
Games, Canadian Team Therapist for 3 Winter Olympics, the Pan-American
Games, the Paralympic Games in 1996 (Atlanta) and 2000 (Sydney) and
was selected as Chief Therapist for the 2004 Athens Paralympics. |

Mark Eagleson
M.S.PT., Hons. B.Kin., Registered Physiotherapist, Certified
Kinesiologist
Mark graduated from McMaster University with his Bachelor of
Kinesiology in 2001. He then attended Husson College in Bangor, Maine
where he attained his Masters in Physical Therapy. Mark has recently
returned from working in Connecticut during which time he completed
his coursework for his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Mark has worked
with athletes competing at various levels and has worked with patients
who have suffered injuries from workplace or motor vehicle accidents.
Mark is an avid skier having competed with the Southern Ontario Ski
Team for three years. He continues to be active in the outdoors
playing soccer, Ultimate Frisbee, rock climbing, kayaking, skiing and
snowshoeing and is looking forward to living where he likes to play. |

Ron Herman
B.P.H.E., B.Sc. (P.T.), M.C.P.A. Registered Physiotherapist
Ron graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Physical and
Health Education in 1992 and a Bachelor of Science (Physical Therapy)
in 1994. He is a Registered Physiotherapist with the College of
Physiotherapists of Ontario since 1994 and has practiced on
orthopedics in private clinic settings in Cambridge, Toronto and for
the past six years with Collingwood Sport Medicine and Rehabilitation
Centre. His interests are in manual therapy and exercise as well as
using other physiotherapy modalities. He has recently had continuing
education in Soft Tissue Release Techniques.
Ron was a C.I.A.U. Football All-Canadian in 1991 and was drafted by
the CFL’s Edmonton Eskimos. Ron and his family have enjoyed living in
Collingwood for the past six years. |

Aaron Johnson
B.Sc. (P.T.), FCAMT, CAFCI, M.C.P.A.
Dip. Manipulative Physiotherapy, Registered Physiotherapist
Aaron graduated from the Physiotherapy Program at the University
of Western Ontario in 1997. Since that time, Aaron has completed a
Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy. He has also
completed his certification in acupuncture with the Acupuncture
Foundation of Canada. Aaron has been active in post-graduate education
and is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy. Aaron
enjoys an active lifestyle and likes to spend his free time working
out, playing tennis, golfing and fishing. |

Deb Shirley
R.M.T. Registered Massage Therapist
Deb graduated with honours in 1998 from Sutherland-Chan School and
Teaching Clinic in Toronto. She is a Registered Massage Therapist who
has a special interest in treating clients with chronic headaches and
upper back pain. Deb has been at Collingwood Sport Medicine and
Rehabilitation Centre since December 2000. She first developed an
interest in working with sport related injuries when she was employed
at the Sport Injury clinic at Ryerson University for three years. She
treated varsity athletes in basketball, hockey, swimming, soccer,
badminton, volleyball and squash. Additionally she treated dancers in
their University program. Deb enjoys canoeing and hiking. She has
recently started running and is deeply humbled by that pursuit. |

Judy McLenaghan
Hon. B.A. P.H.E., Affiliate member Ontario Kinesiology Assoc., RMJ
Level I, II (Rehab. Exercise Therapy), The Lumbar Spine (APTEI),
Certified Fitness Consultant
Judy graduated from the University of Western Ontario with an Honours
B.A. in Physical and Health Education. She has a wealth of experience
in hospital and clinic based therapy programs and has held many sport
related jobs prior to coming to Collingwood. Since being in
Collingwood she has actively pursued educational courses that provide
practical and theoretical knowledge of the most recent approaches in
therapeutic exercise. Judy enjoys a variety of sports from both a
recreational and fitness perspective. She calls Meaford home and when
she is not working, has great fun with her husband and teenage
daughter. |

Helen Bull
Helen graduated from the University of Toronto with a Diploma in Physical
& Occupational Therapy in 1967. Since graduating she has been a life-long
learner focusing on Manual Therapy, Orthopaedic and Sport Medicine, Foot &
Lower limb biomechanics, Cranio-Sacral Therapy, and women’s health issues.
She is fully certified with the Acupuncture Foundation Institute of
Canada, in affiliation with the University of Toronto to perform
Acupuncture. She is certified to perform biomechanical foot assessments
and to prescribe customized orthotics. She loves endurance hiking,
cycling, kayaking, fitness training, skiing and gardening with her husband
Jim. Her pride is in her five grandchildren who give her balance. |

Elisa Harrison
H.B.Sc. (Kinesiology), PCP, C Ped Tech (C), C Ped (C)
Certified Pedorthist
Elisa Harrison graduated from the University of Waterloo with an Honours
Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Human Resources
Management in 2000. She took two years to work at Manulife Financial and
Foote, Cone and Belding advertising agency before turning to her true
passion of biomechanics. She went on to pursue her interest in helping
others while using her kinesiology background and creative ability to
become one of the first graduates of the University of Western Ontario’s
Post-Graduate Certificate Program in Pedorthics in 2002. |
In the past, Elisa has had
the opportunity to work for DCIEM (Defense & Civil Institute of
Environmental Medicine), The Peel Regional Police, Peel Health Department
– in Community Development/ Health Promotion and at the Guelph Community
Health Centre.
Now, as a Canadian Certified Pedorthist, working with Pedorthic Services
since 2002, Elisa works in the head office in Barrie as well as in
multi-disciplinary clinics in Guelph, Collingwood and Oakville. Being up
in Barrie and Collingwood allows her to take a special interest in
national competitors from the Barrie Mariposa Skating Club as well as
helping other skaters, hockey players, skiers and snowboarders in the
area. To stay active in the community, Elisa offers education sessions to
local groups on foot health and footwear, sponsors local races such as the
Guelph Downtown 5k to benefit the Guelph Community Health Centre, and
remains an active member of the Pedorthic Association of Canada (PAC) and
the College of Pedorthics by developing and revising exam questions for
the exam writing committee and writing articles for the Pedorthic
Association of Canada newsletter.
In her free time, she enjoys pursuing her second love of making jewellery
as well as photography, music, playing ultimate Frisbee, snowboarding,
cross-country skiing, and mountain biking. |
